Nissan at the Paris Motor Show

WEBWIRE

The Paris Motor Show 2012 saw the unveiling of several new Nissan models in what has been an exciting and successful year for the company.

The new models include the innovative Nissan TERRA and Nissan PIVO 3 – the future in zero-emission motoring, the Juke Nismo and 370Z for the latest range of Nissan high performance vehicles, and the new edition of the popular Qashqai.  You can also take home a limited edition Ministry of Sound Nissan Juke, while the Micra has continued its relationship with fashion icon Elle.

When it comes to emission-friendly driving, Nissan leads the way. The TERRA has continued on from the LEAF, with electric drive in the front wheels, while the rear has a fuel-cell stack underneath the boot and in-wheel motors. This concept car is aiming to bring zero emissions together with a lasting endurance. The PIVO 3 made its European debut at the Paris Motor Show this year, and includes intelligent technology that can feed stored energy back into the electrical grid – so, when used on a larger scale, the demand and supply of electric power can be balanced. This car is fitted with practical technology such as Automated Valet Parking and Robotic Agent Interface, which lets you access and manage all key information technology under one interface.

The new Nissan Juke was also unveiled. An improved chassis means weight distribution and aerodynamics are boosted, increasing overall performance. The 1.6-litre petrol engine benefits from a direct injection which boosts economy, while the car has 200bhp and can sprint from 0-62mph in 7.8 seconds. The interior is stylish and simplistic, removing all unnecessary add-ons that take up valuable viewing and seating space. A detachable and portable central tablet controls and displays all of the car’s features, including its instrument readings.

The 370Z has continued its high-quality return in performance and value, and has received some interior and exterior touch-ups to keep the car fresh. The result is a more muscular and powerful frame, and the car benefits from LED running lights in the day, while the performance statistics remain with a 3.7-litre engine and 328bhp, with a sprint time of 5.3 from 0-62mph.

The new Qashqai is an evolution of the original popular model, by fitting the premium features of driving to the mass crossover market. Things such as the Around View Monitor, and increased safety features keep the Qashqai not only exciting, but reliable too. The model is available in standard or Qashqai+2 edition with any of the transmission or engine combinations – or you could choose the new 1.6-litre dCi engine that has CO2 emissions as low as 119g/km.

For the cutting-edge in style, you can take home the Nissan Micra, which has continued its partnership with fashion company Elle. The interior is as stylish you’d expect, thanks to the chrome details and a panoramic glass roof.

There is also the new Nissan Juke Ministry of Sound edition. This is available in any of the current Juke models and includes a Music Pack, containing an iPod Touch – with a scratch-proof shield, Ministry of Sound headphones and a voucher to use in store – along with audio technology that aims to produce the ultimate mobile sound system.
