Mooloolaba Life Coach Reveals More Effective Ways to Manage Anxiety and Depression

WEBWIRE

QUEENSLAND, Australia November, 2012 –Beyond Blue Australia has revealed some very alarming statistics about mental health. According to a report by the well-known mental health organisation, the most common mental illnesses in Australia are anxiety and depression, which are predicted to be the world’s largest health problem by the year 2020.  It is expected that within the next 8 years 100,000 young Australians and 1,000,000 adults are expected to be seriously anxious and depressed(1).

The statistics are alarming.  But even more alarming is the reality that, despite the availability of such information, cases of anxiety and depression continue to rise. According to Holistic Health Library, 15% of depressed people will commit suicide.  And yet, the same article revealed that 80% of depressed people are not getting appropriate treatment(2). www.happymindformula.com/

Appropriate treatment is crucial, yet experts cannot agree on the most appropriate form of treatment.  There is extensive debate over the suitability and effectiveness of prescription drugs for anxiety and depression, with around 85 million sedative hypnotics prescribed in 2008.   People who take this type of medication for anxiety and depression often experience debilitating effects such as addiction, suicidal and homicidal tendencies, and explosive and dangerous actions, among others(3).

The rate that anxiety and depression cases are increasing, and the way drugs are being heralded as the most common, and often the only option – these are the realities that prompted Mooloolaba life coach and natural therapist Tracey Carmichael to start Happy Mind Formula.

Tracey Carmichael is an NLP and Time Line Therapy Practitioner.  Tracey has herself experienced bouts of anxiety and depression which she has successfully overcome.  In January 2012, Tracey wrote the book ‘Happy Mind Formula’ and built a resource website at www.happymindformula.com/ in an attempt to provide alternative ways to manage anxiety and depression.

Tracey believes that medication is not the “first and only option” for people suffering from anxiety and depression. In fact, her 20 years researching mental illness has led her to affirm that there are many factors which contribute to mental health such as “learned behaviour, traumatic experiences, food intolerances, alcohol and drug abuse, overconsumption of energy drinks and low self-worth”, which are not solved by resorting to drugs.

Through the Happy Mind Formula, available in Tracey’s book, website and life coaching sessions, Tracey aims to inspire and educate people on how crucial it is for them to be responsible for their own mental health.  She encourages her readers and her clients to think about making appropriate changes to the way they live their life and helps them to create action plans to effect the changes.

Tracey’s solution to the disturbingly serious issue of how to manage anxiety and depression is simple – the Happy Mind Formula of “when we change, everything changes.”
