NCR Selected for Venue Management Solution at the New Perth Arena

WEBWIRE

PERTH, Australia — NCR Corporation (NYSE:NCR) announced today that it has entered into a new agreement with VenuesWest, Western Australia’s provider of premier sports, recreation and entertainment venues, to implement the NCR venue management solution at Perth Arena, managed by AEG Ogden.

The NCR solution, already deployed in more than 200 stadiums and arenas globally, has been selected to streamline operations, increase speed of service and help deliver a world-class entertainment experience.

The 15,500-seater Perth Arena is scheduled to open on November 10, 2012 with 65 NCR touchscreen point-of-sale (POS) terminals installed throughout the facility’s general concession locations and VIP zones to ensure fast sales transactions.

Additionally, mobile NCR POS-and-printer units operating on a high-speed, wireless network will enable Perth Arena visitors to buy refreshments and merchandise away from fixed concession stands – in corporate and VIP suites, for example, and even to order and pay for goods without leaving their seats.

Graham Partridge, VenuesWest chairman, said, “The NCR system puts Perth Arena at the forefront of venue technology by providing amazing flexibility, control and connectivity.”

NCR Venue Manager will provide Perth Arena with sales information from every POS device and retail outlet in real time, enabling it to accurately report, analyze and forecast sales second by second.

Nick Wagnitz, general manager hospitality, NCR Australia, said, “Easy-to-use, reliable technology that increases speed of service is crucial for event venues that are focused on providing the best fan experience. We look forward to supporting Perth Arena’s goals to engage fans and build its reputation as one of the world’s premier entertainment destinations.”

Perth Arena opens with a concert by Elton John and has lined up some of the world’s biggest names in entertainment, including Matchbox Twenty, Russell Brand, Pink, Jennifer Lopez and One Direction.
