Small local business has big dreams despite recession

San Rafael, CA (October 12, 2012)
After 16 years in the wholesale business, Sandjune active wear has finally taken the plunge into the virtual world of retail. Recently this small “Mom and Pop” company opened its first online store
Founder and surfer, June Frost launched Sandjune in 1995, inspired by a life long love of surfing. With the opening of the online store Sandjune is finally riding the virtual wave into the 21st century. Reaching across state lines and maybe even across the Atlantic Sandjune will finally be available to yoga practitioners and fitness enthusiasts across the US and Great Britain. With a price point well below its competitors Sandjune active wear is hoping to expand from a small local company into a nationally recognized brand.
June’s passion for surfing and her adventurous spirit inspired her to leave the UK and spend 12 years travelling the world in search of the perfect wave.

This journey from place to place taught her skills that remain relevant to running the business today; focus and determination, resilience and adaptability, and most importantly the value of being inclusive and willing to reinvent  yourself.
Together with her husband and designer, she created a distinctive surf wear line which later evolved into yoga and fitness wear. With its elevated designs, premium quality and high performance, Sandjune active wear has become a recognized brand in the yoga and fitness community.

Featuring unique burn out fabric, hip designs, flattering yoga pants and yoga tops Sandjune has created a faithful following among women of all ages.
Expansion in the midst of a recession is a gutsy move and will take all the skills of catching the perfect wave.
