PT Excelcomindo Leverages M-series to Reliably Support MPLS-based VPNs and Enable Future 3G Services

SUNNYVALE, Calif., July 5, 2006 - Juniper Networks, Inc. (NASDAQ: JNPR) today announced that PT Excelcomindo Pratama Tbk (XL), one of Indonesia’s leading communications providers, has deployed the M-series routers to improve the performance of its MPLS-based VPN services and create a solid network foundation for the delivery of advanced services such as 3G Wireless. XL chose the M-series for its industry-leading performance and reliability, and its unique ability to support multiple levels of quality of service, which will enable XL to guarantee superior service level agreements for critical voice, video and VPN traffic.

XL, a subsidiary company of Telekom Malaysia, provides cellular mobile voice and data services, as well as fixed-line offerings including Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) services and wholesale Internet connectivity to local Internet Service Providers.

Juniper Networks M-series multiservice routers have been deployed in the largest IP networks for the past eight years, establishing a track record of stability, reliability and scalability. The M-series supports the industry’s most comprehensive VPN portfolio, combined with the ability to simultaneously support existing and emerging Layer 2 and Layer 3 services. Constructed with a separation between the control plane, forwarding plane and services plane, the M-series multiservice routing systems support multiple services without compromise on a single platform-enhancing revenue opportunities and minimizing operational and capital costs.

“As the foundation of XL’s innovative MPLS-based VPNs and the core of its future 3G Network, Juniper’s routers provide the reliability, performance and scalability to enable XL to meet the demands of its customers,” said Wan Ahmad Kamal, Juniper Networks sales director for Malaysia, Indonesia and Brunei. “This is a great example of working with a customer to create an agile, open and customizable network that supports current services and enables them to introduce new services in the future.”
