Breast Experts Utilize Google+ Hangouts’ Live Video to Teach Breast Self-Exams

WEBWIRE

Jay K. Harness, MD, FACS, medical director for Breast Cancer Answers and past president of the American Society of Breast Cancer Surgeons, will be joining forces with the National Consortium of Breast Centers (http://www.BreastSelfExams.org) and The Breast Cancer Site to teach proper breast self-exam techniques.

“It’s really exciting to be leveraging Google+ Hangouts’ broadcast technology to teach women and men around the world how to perform their own breast self-exams,” said Dr. Harness. “This is how you magnify awareness about breast cancer and empower patients to be their own best advocate.”

This live video event is hosted by Breast Cancer Answers, a social media show that allows breast cancer patients to access accurate breast health information online.

“I’m honored to be a part of this groundbreaking breast cancer awareness campaign, using Google+ Hangouts On Air to teach people through video how to perform their own breast self-exam and how to detect breast cancer warning signs,” said Todd Hartley, CEO of WireBuzz, the digital marketing agency driving this campaign.

The live tutorial will take place in a Google+ Hangout on Sept. 30 from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. PDT / 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. EDT. To join the event, visit http://bit.ly/PJEg4z. There will be no nudity.
