September Skiing Coming Up in Perisher Valley

With a week beginning at minus 10 degrees, the Perisher valley is experiencing top-rate snow fall and skiing conditions. All lifts and ski areas are open and the weather is sparkling. Reports from the Sundeck Hotel - Australia’s highest hotel - suggest that the rest of August and September will be perfect for skiing and snow-boarding.

These terrific conditions have followed on from previous weeks which have been experiencing falls and dumps of 20cm and 40cm. In fact, over 1.3 meters of snow has fallen already this August and there’s more coming.

Snowfall can be predicted quite well from weather conditions in Adelaide, and when it’s 14 degrees and raining there - as it has been and has been forecasted for this week - this means snow. Hop on the internet and have a look at what’s showing on snow-cams at Perisher valley to really get a feel for the amazing skies and panoramic views.

Barbecue lunches, comedy nights, live music & plenty of snowmen - a stay at Australia’s highest hotel is hard to pass up. The comments on their Facebook page show a lot of envious people wishing that they were currently at the Sundeck.

The Sundeck is 2 hours drive from Canberra, but there’s no parking up that high, so be prepared to leave your car at the skitube and catch the train to Perisher.

The 2012 Sundeck Cup has been won and the season is in full swing. But not over yet. If you still fancy a stay in sub-zero temperatures, high altitude and under clear, bright skies, September is looking good !
