The BMW 3 Series wins at the Auto Express New Car Honours for a fourth consecutive year

For the fourth year in a row, the new BMW 3 Series Saloon has been awarded the title of Best Compact Executive Car at the Auto Express New Car Honours. It was chosen not just for its impressive performance and handling, but also for low carbon emissions and a generous fuel economy that benefits business drivers. The refreshed 3 Series maintains the high level of quality that the motoring industry expects from the German brand, and BMW have strived to maintain their dominance in the executive car sector.
 
The accolade adds to the substantial number of awards that the 3 Series Saloon has won this year, including “Best Executive Car” from Diesel Car Magazine, and it has achieved significant recognition for its suitability as a business vehicle. It has also featured on Car and Driver magazine’s Best Ten list a total of 20 times, the longest-running entry and the only model to appear in the list so frequently. BMW is an award-winning manufacturer for fleet vehicles, and has been named as Manufacturer of the Year at the Business Car Awards four times, including this year.
 
BMW vehicles won several other titles at the Auto Express New Car Honours 2012: the Best Executive Car award, which went to the BMW 520d EfficientDynamics Saloon, and the award for Best Compact Family Car that was bestowed upon the BMW 1 Series five-door Sports Hatch. The awards recognise vehicles for their capability, efficiency, and design qualities, honouring models in a number of specific categories each year.
