Highland Associates Presented with Lumen Award for Lighting Design of Elizabeth Arden Corporate Office
Highland Assoc. Architectural & Interior Design team wins Lumen Award for Creative Lighting Design of Elizabeth Arden corporate space.
(New York, NY)– Highland Associates was presented with a prestigious Lumen Award for the lighting design of Elizabeth Arden’s Corporate Office (Stamford, CT) during the 44th annual Lumen Award gala held on June 21st at Chelsea Piers in Manhattan. Hosted by the New York City Section of the Illuminating Engineering Society (IESNYC), the highly anticipated Lumen Awards celebrate creative excellence in Lighting Design.
The IESNYC presented a LUMEN AWARD OF MERIT, for permanent architectural application executed by RS Lighting in collaboration with Highland Associates for Elizabeth Arden’s Corporate Office. The AWARD OF MERIT was accepted during the 2012 Lumen Award ceremony by Randy Sabedra of RS Lighting Design, who worked in collaboration with the Architectural & Interior Design team of Highland Associates: Glenn Leitch, Lewis Roane, Deborah Lorenzo, Elizabeth DeMello and Morgan Gewandter.
Highland Architect, Glenn Leitch, continues to build upon his relationship with Elizabeth Arden with the completion of this dynamic 50,000 sq. ft. build out and rebranding in Stamford, CT. Using beauty products as metaphors for the space, Highland Associates created a 40 foot curving acrylic wall made with 8,000 real makeup brushes and Supergraphics of product shots were used across the building atrium giving the space color and energy.
A rectangular chandelier made of L.E.D. lights integrated into real, glass perfume bottles floats above the sleek, glossy reception desk. The forms and massing of the reception desk subtly invoke a classic make-up compact.
Elizabeth Arden’s branding is evident in all aspects. Supergraphics infuse light and color through the use of bold product images. These images wrap the entire atrium – providing unity to the different departments that are all an integral part of Elizabeth Arden’s success.
Tinted conference rooms meant to reflect perfume bottles are inserted into the open office environment while pendant lighting fixtures and furniture embody the shape and texture of Elizabeth Arden’s product line.Lighting Designer Randy Sabedra continued the architectural story-telling through ingenious lighting design. Both Highland Associates and RS Designs are proud recipients of the 2012 Lumen Merit Award for Elizabeth Arden’s Corporate Office.
