CommonWealth One Federal Credit Union Participated in the 40th Annual Credit Union Cherry Blossom Ten Mile Run

On Sunday, April 1, CommonWealth One Federal Credit Union took part in the 40th annual Credit Union Cherry Blossom Ten Mile Run in Washington, D.C.  CommonWealth One was an event sponsor for the annual event for the sixth consecutive year in 2012.

CommonWealth One has a strong commitment to supporting charitable causes and organizations which are closely tied to the credit union industry.   CommonWealth One sponsors and volunteers the annual Credit Union Cherry Blossom Ten Mile Run each year with employees and members participating in the 5K run/walk, plus volunteering their time at the 10 mile run bag check each year.

 “It is extremely rewarding to support the good works of the Children’s Miracle Network,” stated John Blair, President and CEO.

The annual Credit Union Cherry Blossom Ten Mile Run raises funds for the Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals, which is a consortium of 170 premier children’s hospitals nationwide.  Over $5 million dollars has been raised since 2002 through donations and fundraising credit unions and partners.  The Children’s National Medical Center in Washington, D.C. (“Children’s Hospital”) receives approximately one-third of the raised funds.
