Christian Dating Site Says Church Should Not Decide Who It Marries
Leading Christian dating site asks whether Church should decide who it will marry
Christian Marriage and the Church
Does marriage belong to the Church or to society? This is a discussion that has been raging in the media over the past few months as more and more gay Christians are demanding that their unions should be blessed by the Church.
Now, ChristianLoveMatch.com a leading Christian dating site has joined the campaign with an amusing image to ask the question ‘should the church decide who you can marry?’
Although the site is not a gay Christian dating site, it does have many same sex members and, feels that the whole issue of church involvement in suitable marriage partners is no longer relevant in the second decade of the 21st century.
It seems incredible that even last year there was still a church in Kentucky that banned inter-racial marriage, it seems likely that similarly outdated restrictions on gay marriage will also disappear into realms of history within the coming decade.
A spokesman for ChristianLoveMatch.com said: “Whether couples are gay or straight we try to help them find a suitable Christian partner with whom they can share a long term commitment blessed by their chosen congregation.” This is certainly a very controversial subject, but trying to hold back the tide of gay Christians who wish to be an accepted as married partners within their community is like King Canute holding back the ocean.
The site hopes that by putting a humourous twist on the argument it will make more people aware of just how seriously the cause is taken.
