DENVER, Colorado, April 17, 2012 — Subsentio, a Trusted Third Party service bureau for Lawfully Authorized Electronic Surveillance (LAES), today announced it has retained the services of Marc Hopper as its Law Enforcement Liaison Officer.

Mr. Hopper recently retired as a Special Agent and Supervisory Special Agent at the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI). His career at the FBI led him to specialize in electronic surveillance as a technically trained agent in the Columbus, Ohio Resident Agency of the Cincinnati Field Office. After years of running successful missions, he then supervised the switch based intercept team for the FBI in Quantico, Virginia.

“A key part of our LAES process is to work proactively with our service provider clients and Law Enforcement to ensure that valid state and federal court orders are rapidly addressed, provisioned in a timely manner, and that accurate intelligence is appropriately acquired for case investigations.” said Chief Security Officer Ward Jackson. “We’ve had more court orders for electronic surveillance in the last year than in the four previous years combined so Marc’s expertise is a welcome addition to our security staff.”

Mr. Hopper said, “I was looking for a firm that shared my passion for the importance of professionalism and integrity in electronic surveillance and I found that at Subsentio. Their ability to support the needs of Law Enforcement while balancing subscribers’ constitutional rights to privacy and ensuring compliance with federal statutes, state law, and the rules of the Federal Communications Commission was a key factor in my decision making process. I look forward to working with Subsentio’s clients and the Law Enforcement Agencies they serve.”

President Steve Bock added, “I’ve found through the years that a complete understanding of Law Enforcement’s needs is critical to empowering carriers’ ability to rapidly and accurately comply with their legal and regulatory requirements under the Communications Assistance for Law Enforcement Act (CALEA) and other federal and state law. This is particularly true in a world of rapidly evolving technologies including VoIP and LTE where critical compliance judgments must be made in real time to avoid penalties for non-compliance. Nothing can replace actual law enforcement field experience, especially when that experience has come from a career in the FBI. We are honored to have someone of Marc’s caliber join our staff. It is another example of our commitment to building a company that is focused on meeting the compelling needs of law enforcement within the strict confines of this very complex and continuingly evolving area of telecommunications.”

All of Subsentio’s Trusted Third Party solutions have been fully tested with law enforcement and are currently being used to successfully perform lawful intercepts in a variety of networks. These solutions are a cost effective and reliable method of performing CALEA compliant electronic surveillance and, like all of Subsentio’s Trusted Third Party services are backed by Subsentio’s full indemnification against non-compliance penalties.

Subsentio, Inc. is trusted by both the private carriers and the law enforcement agencies to perform court ordered lawful electronic surveillance. Based in Centennial, CO the company has national, regional and rural service provider clients. Information can be found at www.subsentio.com.
