Tyora Moody’s debut novel, “When Rain Falls”, serves up suspense and faith

New York City, March 5, 2012 – Tyora Moody is one of the most influential people in Christian publishing you have never heard of. Quietly, she has been a trusted go-to person for some of the biggest names gracing the covers of Christian fiction and non-fiction books: Patricia Raybon, Sharon Ewell Foster, Tia McCollors, Stacy Hawkins Adams, Sherri Lewis, Vanessa Miller, Rhonda McKnight and many more. She has even been a judge for the prestigious Christy Awards.

All of Tyora’s work for over ten years has been focused on helping others sell their books until now. Moody owns and operates Tywebbin Creations LLC (Tywebbin.com), a design and marketing company. Her company’s niche is assisting authors with branding and developing an online presence.

The South Carolina native is in the spotlight with the March 1 release of her first novel, ’When Rain Falls’ (Urban Christian). Tyora Moody steps out of the shadow of her notable clients to chart her own path as an author. However, the desire to publish was not always the dream or her plan.

“I really didn’t give much thought about writing a book until I started ’When Rain Falls’. During that year, I was trying to work outlines for a nonfiction book, but kept being pulled to the story. Growing up I wanted to be a teacher, nurse, fashion designer, architect, never an author. Working with the people I’ve worked with only inspired me to push forward with this project,” says Moody, who is known as Ty to her friends and family.

In 2010, Moody took a manuscript to author Tiffany Warren’s Faith and Fiction Retreat with little expectation other than an audience with a few acquisitions editors. She left the conference with a book deal. Urban Christian, a division of the Kensington imprint Urban Books gave her a two-book deal. During the time between the contract was signed and the book’s March 1 release, Tyora continued working for other authors.

She muses, “All of a sudden I am doing interviews, blog tours and book chats, the things I’d seen my clients do for years. It is humbling, kind of fun, but it is work.”

’When Rain Falls’ is set in Charlotte, North Carolina and is about a woman who is determined to seek justice for the brutal murder of her best friend. Moody’s romantic suspense novel languishes in an overtly southern cultural backdrop that is both beautiful and gritty. The novel has received high praises from many of the authors Tyora has worked for over the years. The next novel in the series is When Memories Fade, which is scheduled for release in March 2013. Tyora has barely had time to breathe or live in the celebration of the new book’s release, because she is currently in the throes of completing the When Memories Fade manuscript.
