Fine Artist Devin Crane Pays Homage to Tim Burton In Paris

Art world superstar Devin Crane debuts a new painting in Paris, France for the “L’étrange Noël de Monsieur Jack Expo-Hommage au film écrit par Tim Burton” with Galerie Arludik.

Fine artist Devin Crane and Burton’s careers have many parallels. Both attended the prestigious CalArts (California Institute of the Arts) in which Walt Disney established in Los Angeles. Although Devin Crane attended 20 years later, many of Burton’s teachers were still teaching and Crane was honored to learn from them. Walt Disney Feature Animation was also where both began their careers as animators. Crane’s painting was inspired by Jack’s love interest Sally in the movie “Nightmare Before Christmas.” “I wanted to take my painting one step further and imagine her and Jack’s story beyond the movie. My painting “A Little Black Dress For Her Date With Jack” portrays her preparation for one of their dates together! Combining my love of fashion, I wanted to paint Sally creating a very chic and perfect little black dress. Robe petit noir.” Devin has portrayed this famous character in his own recognizable high fashion approach.

Born and raised in Los Angeles, California, Artist Devin Crane continually finds new ways of interweaving high fashion and luxury branding to amplify the compelling artistry in his paintings. Devin has been a professional in the film industry for the past 15 years. His work has been featured in esteemed publications such as Palace Costes and Voci Magazine. Devin was the Official 2010 & 2011 Poster Artist for the Cannes/Mougins Senior Golf Tournament. In 2011, Devin showed at Art Monaco 11, Cannes 3.14 Hotel during the Cannes Film Festival, James Gray Gallery in Los Angeles & the Contemporary Art Auction by Maitre Pierre Cornette de Saint Cyr. Galerie Arludik will exhibit Devin’s new show this Fall 2012. Devin will also be featured in the famous art auction, Pin-up at the Crazy Horse Paris organized by Cornette de Saint Cyr, April 15th, 2012.

In recent years, Crane has developed a tremendous following and has emerged as one of the most exciting young artists to watch. His work is rapidly being sought out for many important private collections and commissions. Crane has exhibited at many galleries in the United States and Europe.
