Verizon Online Boosts Broadband Speeds for Small Businesses in 16 More States

Digital Subscriber Line Speeds of Up to 7.1 Mbps Available for $99.95 a Month; Pumped-up Offering Fuels Even Greater Productivity

NEW YORK - More small- and medium-sized businesses that want to network multiple PCs on a single DSL (digital subscriber line) circuit or download or send large files can now do so -- and at faster speeds and competitive rates.

Verizon Online has expanded its two highest-capacity business DSL packages to 16 more states: California, Florida, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Nevada, North Carolina, Ohio, Oregon, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Texas, Virginia, Washington and Wisconsin. Now small and medium-sized businesses in 28 states and the District of Columbia can get Verizon’s maximum connection speed of up to 7.1 Mbps (megabits per second).

Verizon Business DSL offers customers maximum connection speeds of up to 7.1 Mbps downstream and 768 kbps (kilobits per second) upstream with a Dynamic IP address for $99.95 a month. In addition, business customers can order Verizon Business DSL with up to 7.1Mbps/768 kbps with a Static IP address for $199.95 a month. Business DSL requires a one-year contract.

Small- to medium-sized businesses that send or receive large files and graphics will benefit from the speed of Verizon Business DSL at up to 7.1 Mbps, which is almost 10 times as fast as the entry-level maximum connection of up to 768 Kbps offered to consumers and businesses.*

The expansion of faster DSL packages being provided into these states is a result of Verizon Online’s continued pledge to find new ways to help its business customers, to improve services and to provide the best value in broadband.

Verizon Business DSL offers a variety of packages with different maximum connection speeds and features tailored specifically for the needs of each business owner, starting as low as $19.95 a month, where available, with a qualifying package. A one-year contract is required. Qualifying Dynamic IP and Static IP business DSL packages include Internet Security Suite for one PC, unlimited remote dial-up access, and a choice between three domain name business e-mail accounts or ten Verizon.net e-mail accounts, to name some of the features.
