Family Law Solicitors in Lancashire Buck Trend with Increase in Enquiries

The family law team at Farleys Solicitors in Lancashire has seen a growth in enquiries and new clients despite claims that couples in the region who are experiencing marital difficulties are refraining from seeking divorce advice due to the continuing fragility of the economy.

The firm has seen a dramatic increase in the number of divorce files opened over recent months, with one month seeing a 92% increase compared to the same period last year.

“We are continuing to see a steady increase in enquiries despite recent claims that people are ‘financially trapped’ in marriages they would rather end. Notwithstanding the recession and the decline in the housing market, we are finding that couples are keen to find a resolution to the breakdown of their relationship, and there are affordable routes for these people to follow, such as collaborative law and fixed fee divorces.

"Autumn is traditionally one of the peak periods for divorce enquiries and we saw a marked increase in enquiries during this period compared to the previous month and to files opened last year.
