Fan Publishes Book Sharing Story of High School Bullying on the Edge of Lady Gaga’s Born This Way Foundation’s Release

ERIE, PA — December 28, 2011 — Today at the offices of the outspoken autobiography, “I Was Born This Way”, Author Rich Bateman had this to say about his new book, “I had been working on this book about my life and being born gay since 1996.  When Lady Gaga released her song ‘Born This Way’, the more I listened, the more I began to think that the timing is finally right to put my story out there—it is a cry to end bullying!  I began to write and attack this book as Gaga did her fame—like a MONSTER.  The feelings as I wrote were of confidence that at last I can help to make the world a better place; meanwhile, discovering and releasing my inner-superstar—which Gaga says we all have in the lyrics of her song.”

The author says he shared the horrid details of his story of bullying because it almost cost him his education.  Bateman says the reason he wrote this book is because there are probably thousands of others out there—like him—who almost had their education robbed from them.  There are also percentages that are having their education robbed as the bullies do win with some of their victims; therefore, we MUST address this situation and address it NOW.  Bateman says he wants to make a difference, not just be an unheard story of torture so he decided right away that he would happily donate a generous 10 percent of all profits from the book to Lady Gaga’s Born This Way Foundation, being released in 2012.
