Optometrist Designs Free Online Colorblind Test

WEBWIRE

BALTIMORE, MD, November 29, 2011 – Azman Color Vision Specialists have developed a free online colorblind test that allows people to test their color vision.

It is common for people not to realize they suffer from colorblindness until they become adults. Yet once it becomes apparent, it can be extremely detrimental to career ambitions. In order to serve in several industries such as law enforcement, the electrical technician field, railroad engineers, or in the military, people must pass a colorblind test. In most cases, it will be the Ishihara Color Test which is the international gold standard to test color vision.

Dr. Thomas Amzan has been helping his patients pass the Ishihara Color Plate Test since 1999 with his ColorCorrection System. He is the only optometrist in the world who offers the color corrective contact lenses and glasses that have a 100 percent success rate. During his travels around the world, attending to patients in need of his service, Amzan decided he wanted to provide people a simplified way to test their color vision on their own.

“People often go into a screening process for say, the police academy or the military, and are disappointed to discover they failed the color vision test and are unable to move on,” Amzan said. “With this online test, people who know they will need to take the Ishihara Color Plate Test can check for themselves whether or not they have a problem, and have it treated before they are tested.”

The test is free and easy. By simply looking at a few pictures and counting the number of circles of each color, the “Show Results” button will quickly determine if that person is colorblind.
