“Captains of Comedy” goes high tech using IntelliTrack barcoding software for tickets

IntelliTrack, a leading developer of barcoding software and other related software applications, has successfully installed a custom built electronic ticket validation system for “Captains of Comedy” show. The new high tech system is made to increase efficiency and cut costs for the comedy show.

“Captains of Comedy” is a non- profit comedy show that was created by Parents of students attending the Navy Junior Reserve Training Corps (NJROTC). The training program is at Brien McMahon High School found in Norwalk, Connecticut. So far the comedy show has featured some of the best and outstanding top comic performers. Previous stand up comedians for the show have also performed on Comedy Central, MTV and NBC. There are also regulars in some of the shows who have performed on The Daily Show and other political conventions.

Since its inception four years ago, “Captains of Comedy” used to print their 1100 tickets for every show. With the ever increasing printing costs, the nonprofit organization had to seek better ways of cutting costs. They also had to become more efficient in their provision, tracking and validation of tickets.

IntelliTrack’s barcoding software was used to fill the need for electronic ticketing at the Comedy organization. The software application generates unique ticket barcodes that are easy to validate and can be checked for duplication. The system allows the fans to buy the tickets online and from the comfort of their homes. This has reduced the need to have sales outlets and the number of tickets sold at the entrance door.
