Omaha, NE – October 27, 2011.  Metech Recycling, a national leader in electronics recycling, added jobs at several of its facilities during the last quarter, including Omaha.  Fueled by increased demand from businesses and government entities that require certified e-Stewards® recyclers to process and recycle materials from electronic waste, Metech Recycling increased their number of employees by 12% in the past two months. The company also employs temporary workers and those jobs have also grown in recent months.  Job growth at Metech Recycling increased 10.5% in 2010.  Employment trends for 2011 indicate an annual jobs increase of more than 12%.  The company is adding second shifts to process material for recycling at its plants in Omaha, as well as Salt Lake City, Gilroy, CA and Creedmoor, NC.     “More and more government agencies, corporations and residents realize the health and environmental dangers associated with disposing electronics in landfills or incinerators,” stated Chris Ryan, President of Metech Recycling.  “As the federal government promotes using certified electronics recyclers as part of EPA’s National Strategy for Electronics Stewardship we expect to see the U.S. lead the world in greater protection of environmental resources while creating additional jobs.”   Certified recyclers are regularly audited by accredited, independent third-party certification bodies to validate they manage electronics in a secure, safe, and environmentally responsible manner.   Nearly 95% of materials in electronic devices can be securely recycled and put back into the manufacturing stream, which also reduces mining of rare earth metals.  The EPA’s National Strategy for Electronics Stewardship (www.epa.gov/epawaste/conserve/materials/ecycling/taskforce) promotes government and industry partnerships to responsibly recycle electronics while expanding a domestic industry that protects public health and creates jobs. US Congressman Jim McGovern stated, “Metech Recycling is creating a model for other companies to follow; environmental stewardship combined with green-collar job creation.” Metech Recycling (www.metechrecycling.com) is a national leader in electronics recycling that provides complete materials processing and certified documentation of data device destruction.  The company operates recycling facilities in California, Utah, Colorado, Nebraska, North Carolina, and Massachusetts.  Metech Recycling is ISO 9001:2008 certified and ISO 14001:2004 certified and is a certified e-Stewards® recycler.
