Sydney Acting School Unveils Classical Productions in November

SYDNEY, Australia September 27, 2011 – Aspiring actors are giving rave reviews to a local drama school that offers innovative production-based training, and a genuine alternative to the ‘mainstream’ acting colleges like VCA and NIDA. Providing a launching pad for hopeful actors, Sydney Theatre School Managing Director and Course Director Mark Matthews shares: “Many of our students have achieved great success with several graduates securing work in many Australian and international feature film and TV shows including: The Pacific (Steven Spielberg prod.); American Burger (U.S. feature); The Astronaut (Aus. November ushers in Sydney Theatre School’s Term Three Classical productions scheduled to be performed at The Figtree Theatre, Kensington.

Three different performances are scheduled to run from November 8 – 20th 2011:

A Midsummer Night’s Dream by Shakespeare (directed by Jerome Pride);

The Tempest by Shakespeare (directed by Rowan Greaves); and

The Beau Defeated by Mary Pix (directed by Malcolm Frawley).

Students who are keen on developing their acting skills can audition for drama courses at Sydney Theatre School as early as November. Acting classes are divided in six comprehensive modules that lay the foundation to help new students become successful actors.
