Fujifilm Adds Increased Functionality to its Colorpath Sync Color Alignment Software

Powerful Software Suite Helps Eliminate G7 Alignment Concerns

WEBWIRE

Valhalla, NY, September 11, 2011 – FUJIFILM North America Corporation, Graphic Systems Division today announced a technology preview of their industry leading ColorPath® solution aligning Digital Presses to G7® using Device Link Profiles (DLP).  FUJIFILM ColorPath Sync, formerly named Taskero® Universe® ColorPath Sync, is designed to alleviate the struggles associated with aligning output devices to neutral gray using the G7® methodology.

The comprehensive color alignment tool gives printers the ability to synchronize multiple output devices and maintain the consistency they originally achieved with G7 certification.  The added functionality of device link profiles expands the power of ColorPath Sync to include digital presses.  The DLP functionality is scheduled for release in the first quarter of 2012.

The G7 methodology has become the industry’s standard for aligning output devices and ensuring color consistency.  As commercial printers expand their services to include digital printing and wide format printing, and as print buyers continue to become more demanding regarding color accuracy and consistency, it is imperative that printers produce pieces that match.

Designed to make G7 calibration easier, ColorPath Sync creates more user-friendly charts than other gray calibration software solutions on the market today, making it simpler for users to make on-the-fly curve corrections.  Advanced charts and graphs offer more accurate qualification on input press sheet data, while enabling precise and efficient color correction increases accuracy and minimizes downtime.  The G7 alignment tool also offers spectral-based density and tonal value increase (TVI) calculations for greater densitometric accuracy.

ColorPath Sync is “cloud” based, providing organized, centralized access through the Internet.  Data is safely stored offsite, secure, and always backed-up.  The ability to store and reuse previously created curves provides significant efficiency and timesavings.  An intuitive, user-friendly interface allows for easy synchronization, report generation, and findings that are simple to understand.  Web-based software assures the most current version is always in use.

Information from ColorPath Sync can be exported directly into many popular workflow software packages, which helps eliminate the potential for human error.  Manual export is available as well, easily accommodating any other CTP workflow.

Fujifilm’s ColorPath Sync offers printers a tremendous return on a relatively small investment.  The ability to ensure color is consistent across an entire operation not only yields advantages to the bottom line (including fewer re-runs, quicker press checks, and less waste), but also gives printers a strong marketing and sales tool they are able to use to gain new business.  Additionally, they are able to do it in-house, without the need for consultant fees and expenses.

“Fujifilm maintains its commitment to our customers by continually improving products like ColorPath Sync,” said Don Schroeder, director of solution development, Graphic Systems Division, FUJIFILM North America Corporation.  “The addition of DLP to ColorPath Sync exemplifies Fujifilm’s continued R&D efforts towards adding practical features to our ColorPath Verified® solution.  ColorPath will help our print partners boost efficiency, reduce the cost of labor and materials, and produce the highest quality output for their own customers.”

ColorPath Sync combines with ColorPath Verified to provide one of the most powerful color management and alignment tools available.  ColorPath Verified is a complete process control solution, which monitors and aligns color from a printer’s computer straight through to the press.

Winner of the 2009 InterTech® Technology Award, ColorPath Verified provides real-time job color analysis and support, monitoring key performance indicators to maintain color integrity.  ColorPath Verified actively follows the print job all the way through production, instantly alerting the user to any deviations from standard.  A color quality “dashboard” monitors and analyzes overall color, spot colors, plate curves, even temperature and humidity, to ensure that jobs are running accurately.  Job data can be viewed remotely in real time on the Internet via a password-protected web site.  Fujifilm provides remote color support through its team of color specialists, who also monitor performance and notify press operators to any shifts or variations, directly by phone or text message.

ColorPath Verified provides detailed reports and analysis tools, and integrates with CGS Color Tuner Web, EFI XF 4.0, ColorGate and XRite Intellitrax.

Live ColorPath demonstrations at Graph Expo 2011
ColorPath will be demonstrated in operation at the Graph Expo Show, September 11 – 14, 2011, McCormick Place South, Chicago, Illinois, on the Fujifilm booth # 627.  The powerful program will be monitoring and ensuring the color consistency of the equipment running live on the booth, including the Inca Onset S40, Acuity HS, and the Xerox Color 800 Press.  In addition, samples will be available demonstrating the outstanding results achievable with the combined strengths of ColorPath and the J Press 720
