New San Jose, Calif. Site Will Focus on Emerging In-Vehicle Technologies

TORRANCE, Calif. – Alpine Electronics Research of America, Inc. has announced plans to open a new research center. The research center, which will be based in the San Jose, Calif. area, will focus on expanding opportunities for the in-vehicle cloud business and smartphone link services.

Alpine Electronics Research of America, an affiliate of automotive electronics manufacturer Alpine Electronics, Inc., is based in Torrance, Calif. The Torrance location focuses on automotive electronics research and development. The new center will serve as a branch office for the company and is scheduled to open in October of this year.

“Our new San Jose research center will play a key role in growing our in-vehicle cloud business and smartphone linking services, so being located in such an innovative region is an asset,” said Hidenori Hidaka, President, Alpine Electronics Research of America. “This office will allow us to work even more closely with our development partners to create new solutions that can be applied to our OEM and aftermarket products.”

Alpine’s parent company, Alps Electric Co. Ltd., already has an office in this location, so the new Alpine Electronics Research center will be situated within the same building. This will allow Alpine and Alps to improve their synergy and share overall resources for future growth. The Alpine Electronics Research center will be located at 910 E. Hamilton Avenue, Suite 500, Campbell, CA 95008.
