LONDON, May 24 -- Following the huge success of the last year’s first international money transfers conference, the worldwide money services think-tank IAMTN announced today that the second Global Consumer Money Transfers Conference will take place in London Mandarin Oriental Hotel on the 30th October 2006.
The conference will be chaired by the former UK finance minister and Chancellor of Exchequer, Rt Hon. Lord Norman Lamont of Lerwick.
.
Over two hundred delegates will gather in the luxurious environment of the Knightsbridge based Mandarin Hotel to exchange views on the business development, compliance, technologies and investments in money services business.
The leaders of the industry, such as Western Union, Moneygram, Travelex and the Russian Unistream are invited to speak at the conference.

“Last year’s International Money Transfer Conference was a “first” and for many people an eye-opener. It also changed the terms of the public debate about money transfers. As a result of the conference the role of money transfer companies in fostering development and reducing poverty became much clearer, and the commercial issues, as a result, could be addressed much more directly.” LORD NORMAN LAMONT.

IAMTN – International Association of Money Transfer Networks was founded in January 2006 to promote a better understanding of the money services business and lobby the interests of the money transfers industry worldwide. Lord Norman Lamont is the honorary chairman of IAMTN and Lady Olga Maitland is the CEO. The Association is presided by Gagik Zakaryan who is also the Chairman of Russian money transfers network Unistream.
