NY Film Critics Series Announces 2011 Fall Season in Morristown

Morristown, NJ. (August, 2011) – After a successful 18 plus year run in Secaucus, Clifton and Paramus, the organizers of NJ’s NY Film Critics Series, are excited to announce that their upcoming 2011 Fall Season will now be offered for another exciting year at their second location. The Series will be held at Clearview Cinemas Headquarters Plaza, Morristown, NJ, 72 Headquarters Plaza (Speedwell Ave.) adjacent to Morristown Hyatt Hotel Morristown, NJ 07960

Open to the public, The NY Film Critics Series presents private, preview full-length screenings followed by a live discussion. They have expanded the program format to include high caliber films, guests and audience discussion now with a different host each week. “We strongly feel that this will bring a fresh, new insightful perspective to the preview film experience of the better movies not ordinarily available at the multiplexes,” says organizers Ira and Mark Ehrenkranz.

“Our plans are to have a variety of premier film analysts who will alternate each week. They will present a detailed introduction to the films and conduct an in-depth interview thoroughly exploring content and structure with our nightly featured guests,” adds Ira Ehrenkranz, an esteemed member of the NJ State Film Commission.

The Fall 2011 line-up includes: Peter Travers of ABC-TV, CNN and Rolling Stone Magazine, Owen Gleiberman of Entertainment Weekly Magazine, Alison Bailes of NBC-TV and the New Ebert “At The Movies Show”.

“Our new team of industry experts utilize their national and international influence to get the finest films and guests in the business. Preview the better films not available at the multiplexes. Why travel to small art houses or crowded NY theaters when you can privately experience pristine prints of the highest quality on a big screen with a state-of-the-art sound system before everyone else?” suggests Mark Ehrenkranz.

MARGIN CALL

Set in the high-stakes world of the financial industry, “Margin Call” is a thriller entangling the key players at an investment firm during one perilous 24-hour period in the early stages of the 2008 financial crisis.

ANOTHER HAPPY DAY

Starring: Ellen Barkin, Demi Moore, Kate Bosworth, Thomas Haden Church, George Kennedy, Ellen Burstyn, Ezra Miller

Ellen Barkin stars in this darkly comic story of the emotional rollercoaster of a family gathering.

MY WEEK WITH MARILYN

“My Week with Marilyn” chronicles a week in the life of Marilyn Monroe in which she escapes the shackles of her Hollywood career and embraces British life with Colin Clark. Directed by Simon Curtis and produced by David Parfitt, the film is based on Colin Clark’s diaries and has been adapted for the screen by Adrian Hodges.


THE SON OF NO ONE

“Son of No One” is a police thriller that centers on a young cop (Channing Tatum) who is assigned to a precinct in the working class neighborhood where he grew up, with an old secret surfacing and threatening to destroy his life and family.

Set in contemporary Brooklyn, New York, “Carnage” centers on two pairs of parents one of whose child has hurt the other at a public park, who meet to discuss the matter in a civilized manner.

The Upcoming Fall Season runs for 8 Specially Selected Wednesday Nights in October and November. The Opening Night is Wednesday, October 12th and runs through December 7th, (No Screening Thanksgiving Eve 11/23) at 7:00pm. A six-week ticket option is $199.
