Amino’s Freedom Jump OTT Media Centre has been shortlisted for a prestigious new industry award.

An international panel of experts selected the “companion” device for inclusion in the “Service Delivery Platform” section of the inaugural ConnectWorld.TV awards which will take place during IBC 2011 in Amsterdam.

Powered by the CE4150 Intel® Atom core and MeeGo™, the Freedom Jump works alongside existing cable or satellite set-top boxes to add an exciting new layer of content that is blended seamlessly with an operator’s branded user interface. This allows viewers to access a wealth of additional content available on the open Internet such as movie-on-demand services, catch-up TV, Internet music services and social networking.

Amino CEO Andrew Burke said: “This is further recognition of the market-leading position Amino has in developing and delivering OTT solutions to the market. The Freedom Jump is exciting great market interest for its ability to bring new content to existing deployments at speed and a great price point.”

More than 150 entries were received for the awards, which is organised by BPL Broadcast Ltd, the leading publisher and event organiser for the broadcast industry.
