The Stroke Association moves full banking relationship to Barclays Corporate

WEBWIRE

In a rare move for the charity sector, The Stroke Association has moved all of its operational banking activities to Barclays Corporate after the bank’s specialist charities team were able to help the organisation almost double its earnings on balances.

Barclays Corporate offered The Stroke Association a solution which allowed it to offset interest on its current account against transactional charges. It also streamlined more than 180 accounts to just 18, increasing efficiencies across the charity.

David McHattie, Head of Charities at Barclays Corporate, said: “The current environment is bearing down heavily on the sector, but there are simple things charities can do to create efficiencies to transform their businesses. We work hard with our clients to help them achieve such solutions, and the dramatic benefits realised with The Stroke Association illustrate the results of such a collaborative approach. We look forward to continuing to support The Stroke Association and the industry.”

Roy Quiddington of The Stroke Association said: “What surprised us most was the dedication, commitment and proactivity the charity team from Barclays Corporate brought. From the start they listened, understood our key frustrations and looked to deliver their services accordingly. Barclays Corporate has supported us considerably along the way. This has been an exciting change for The Stroke Association and we look forward to a lasting relationship as we look to grow our organisation.”
