SEH Technology Delivers ThinPrintReader TPR-10

Authentication Hardware for Secure Network Printing


PHOENIXVILLE, PA (July 12, 2011) – SEH Technology, a leading network solution vendor, announces the launch of the ThinPrintReader TPR-10, a hardware authentication solution working in conjunction with ThinPrint Personal Printing. It is specifically designed for secure and efficient network printing of confidential or sensitive documents. An employee sends a document to a network queue and, through authentication at the printer by the employee via their Personal Printing Passcard, the printed document is released to the proper person. ThinPrintReader TPR-10 alleviates the issue of confidential documents being picked up off the printer by the wrong recipient.

Integration of the ThinPrintReader TPR-10 is easy because it is compatible with every printer. It is transparently connected between the printer and the network and does not require a dedicated IP address. As a result, it does not interfere with the existing network infrastructure such as accounting or monitoring systems.

Authentication occurs directly at the printer. An employee simply waves their RFID-based Smart-Card (e.g., Mifare, Felica) over the printer and ThinPrintReader TPR-10 authenticates the employee and releases the print job.
