The Weather Channel Names Bob Walker Executive Vice President And General Manager Of Networks And Content

The Weather Channel Companies (TWCC) has named Bob Walker executive vice president and general manager of networks and content. Walker’s new role will include responsibility for all of TWCC’s live and original programming, including on-air and digital content as well as the TWC Radio Network. He will continue to report to president and CEO, Mike Kelly

Prior to joining TWCC in 2010, Walker was the president and general manager of WXIA-TV and WATL-TV in Atlanta, where he was responsible for the overall management, operation and strategic direction for the stations and growth of the stations’ digital businesses. . He was the president and general manager of WXIA-TV beginning in 1996 and assumed responsibility for WATL-TV in 2006 after Gannett acquired the station.

Prior to that role, Walker was vice president of broadcast and held various sales, marketing and research roles in his nearly 22 year career with Gannett. A CPA, he began his professional career with Arthur Andersen & Company in Denver.

An active member of the Atlanta community, Walker works with a number of organizations, among them the Atlanta Convention and Visitors Bureau executive committee, the Zoo Atlanta board and the First Tee of Atlanta, for which he is chair of the board of directors. A native of Denver, CO, Walker is a graduate of the University of Colorado and lives in Atlanta with his wife and four children.
