TIFFANY THE VALLEY GIRL WITH MAGIC EIGHT BALL POWERS HITS THE ANDROID MARKETPLACE

June 28, 2011 –Smartphone users who yearn for the days when valley girls ruled the world and who want a glimpse into the future need look no further. Team Radish introduces Totally Psychic, its first novelty app for the Android, featuring Tiffany the valley girl with magic eight ball powers.

The eight ball was a memorable toy that looked very much like the 8-ball that is used in a game of billiards. Although its current version was released sometime after 1950, it was made popular during the 80’s as a novelty both for children and adults. Users asked the ball a yes or no question and then turned it right side up to reveal the answer. Any one of twenty positive, negative or non-committal responses were then revealed as a playful reading meant to be taken with a grain of salt.

Inspired by this popular question and answer game, users who download the brand new Android Totally Psychic application will meet Tiffany the Valley Girl. As somewhat of a clairvoyant, Tiffany’s totally awesome powers of prediction will allow users the ability to ask a “Yes” or “No” question and instantly get the answer on their phone. This, like, totally unique app is designed to provide a fun way for Android phone users to get immediate answers to all of their burning questions.

Other cool features include a downloadable valley girl ringtone tone. There is also a built-in social-networking tool that enables users to inform their Facebook friends that they’ve used the app, allowing their friends to get in on the fun.

And if Tiffany’s answers aren’t enough to satisfy, users can opt to chat with a live psychic from PsychicSource. New callers get a live 10-minute reading for only $10.

The program was developed by Team Radish, a husband and wife partnership that focuses on developing novelty apps and games. Having grown up in the 80s, the motivation behind the app’s creation was mainly to introduce valley girl talk to a new generation. For those already familiar with Valspeak, the Totally Psychic App offers a comical trip down memory lane.

“We decided to combine a popular childhood toy that had mass appeal with the equally popular lingo of that generation,” says Vinit Jagdish, co-founder of Team Radish. He notes that the application was designed purely for entertainment purposes and that users are not expected to hold Tiffany accountable for any of her ‘yes’ or ‘no’ responses that could sway decision-makers.

The character of Tiffany is ‘totally’ fictional, based upon the amalgamation of every gum-chewing, boy trolling, and shopaholic teenage girl from the Valley that influenced the language of a generation. The idea to create this application was based upon the concepts of a popular fad, but at the same time Team Radish hopes to redirect the dialect of today’s youth to a more positive angle.

“To be honest, we’re disappointed with the slang of today’s youth. Just sayin’…” joshes Lisa Ray, co-founder of Team Radish. “So we thought, why not bring back the vernacular of such great cult classics like Heathers and Clueless? We think that Totally Psychic picks up where Cher Horowitz left off. Plus, who doesn’t like a magic eight ball?”
Only a total poser!

Totally Psychic is available for download at www.totallypsychicapp.com, the Android Marketplace, and the Amazon Appstore.
