Sanofi appoints Peter Guenter, Senior Vice President, Europe

Paris, France - - Sanofi (EURONEXT : SAN ; NYSE : SNY) is pleased to announce today the appointment of Peter Guenter, as Senior Vice President, Europe, effective July 15, 2011. He will report to Hanspeter Spek, President, Global Operations and will join the Management Committee.

Peter Guenter, who is currently General Manager for the Multi-Country-Organisation for Germany, Switzerland and Austria, will succeed Belen Garijo, who will leave the Group and take a global leadership role in another Pharmaceutical Company. Peter Guenter holds a Masters Degree in Physical Education at the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, University of Ghent, Belgium. He started his career in Sales at SmithKline in 1986. He joined the Group in 1995 and held various positions in France, Europe and Global Marketing. In 2000, he was appointed General Manager Belgium and then Vice President for Eastern Europe, Northern Europe & Scandinavia. In 2008, he was appointed General Manager, Commercial Operations for Germany, and since 2011, he has been General Manager for the Multi Country- Organisation for Germany, Switzerland and Austria.
