Specialist Marquetry Company Aryma Visited by TRH The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall

As part of their annual summer tour of Wales, TRH The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall today visited the specialist marquetry company Aryma in Llandrindod Wells.

During the visit The Prince and The Duchess met the young team of highly skilled marqueteurs who demonstrated their craftsmanship. Using traditional marquetry skills coupled with modern technology, exceptional designs and pictures are created in veneer which have earned the company a world-class reputation.

His Royal Highness was invited to complete the hand assembly of the marquetry for a box that will be presented as a gift following the visit. In support of his keen interest in red squirrel conservation and his role as Patron of the Red Squirrel Survival Trust, the box - which is intended to hold nuts for the red squirrels at his home Birkhall, on the Balmoral estate - will depict playful red squirrels in natural coloured veneers native to the UK.
