New Software Helps Expatriates, Frequent Travelers & Tax Exiles Track Time Spent In Each Country

June 22, 2011 – Inigo Software today launched International Travel Reporter www.internationaltravelreporter.com, an easy to use windows application which helps expatriates, frequent travelers & tax exiles to track time spent in each country. Users simply enter their journey information and the software does the rest, calculating the number of nights per visit, then grouping and totaling visit details by country and year. Results can be printed out or exported to Excel, Word or PDF file formats.

Frequent travelers often need to keep accurate track of the time they spend in various countries. This might be in order to minimize their exposure to international income tax, or for visa, residency or other purposes. Meticulous records are often necessary to avoid overstaying in a particular country and to provide clear records of travel.

Trying to do this manually with a spreadsheet is tedious and prone to errors, particularly if travel itineraries are complex. Calculations are further complicated by the fact that countries have different reporting periods, with some using the calendar year while others use their various fiscal years and so on. International Travel Reporter solves this problem by enabling users to define a different reporting year for each country. Even if a visit crosses a country’s year-end, the software will automatically assign each night to the correct year. It also calculates rolling averages for nights stayed in each country for each of the past four years.

Inigo director Michael Le Queux said: “I know from my own experience and that of business associates who frequently travel overseas that tracking this information accurately can be very tedious, hence the development of International Travel Reporter. What used to take hours now takes just minutes.”

International Travel Reporter handles multiple travelers, multiple journeys per day, reverse-dateline journeys, international date formats, and leap years. It also helps reduce data entry errors and omissions by highlighting non-contiguous journeys. Data backup and restore functions are also included.

Designed for use by travelers, corporations and professional services personnel, International Travel Reporter is compatible with Windows 7, Vista and XP and may be downloaded and used free of charge from www.internationaltravelreporter.com/download.

The free version is fully functional indefinitely. Data capacity can be expanded by the purchase of a Personal licence (US$55), a Family licence (US$95) or an Ultimate licence (US$195).
