Urban Land Institute District Council Names Armando Codina 2011 Lifetime Achievement Award Winner

CORAL GABLES, Fla.- June 13, 2011 - The Urban Land Institute’s (ULI) Southeast Florida/Caribbean District Council announces its 2011 Lifetime Achievement Award winner, South Florida business icon and developer Armando Codina. Mr. Codina, as well as 2011’s Young Leader of the Year and Project of the Year, will be honored at the 2011 Vision Awards dinner and ceremony slated for September 15th at the new JW Marriott Marquis Miami.

Chairman & CEO of boutique real estate development and investment firm Codina Partners, Mr. Codina was selected for this prestigious award in recognition of his more than 40 years of exceptional leadership in South Florida’s development and community-building arenas. In announcing the award, District Council Chair Eric D. Swanson stated that Mr. Codina “represents the ‘Gold Standard’ among those who combine savvy business insight with a true love and stewardship of their community.” As 2011 Lifetime Achievement Award recipient, Mr. Codina joins other South Florida visionary developers Tibor Hollo, Terry Stiles, Chuck Cobb and Jorge Perez in receiving this award.

Mr. Codina has developed and managed millions of office, industrial, residential and retail space across the region. His visionary insight and dedication to the community has made him a sought-after leader of numerous community projects and organizations, as well as a member of such national boards as the AMR Corp. (American Airlines’ parent company) and Home Depot.

The 2011 Young Leader of the Year and finalists for Project of the Year will be announced in June. In each of the categories, the awards recognize those individuals and projects that exemplify the mission of the Urban Land Institute, as well as those that have demonstrated outstanding commitment to the real estate profession and to our community at-large.
