PORTLAND, OR (May 2006) – LaCie received an Award for Innovation in Media (AIM) at the 2006 National Association of Broadcasters (NAB) Conference in Las Vegas. LaCie was one of five companies receiving the highest number of attendee votes in the Content Management category. LaCie received AIM recognition for its Little Big Disk 320GB during the NAB Technology Luncheon held at the Las Vegas Hilton on Wednesday, April 26.

“As the professionals who use broadcasting technologies day in and day out, NAB attendees are in a unique position to recognize the hottest products emerging into the marketplace. The National Association of Broadcasters would like to extend its congratulations to all of the 2006 AIM winners who received this esteemed recognition,” says Chris Brown, NAB Senior Vice President of Conventions & Expositions.

AIM awards acknowledge new, innovative equipment and pioneering, groundbreaking technologies. As the first portable hard drive to achieve up to 82MB/s throughput, LaCie’s Little Big Disk succeeds as a pioneer in the content management category. It packs up to 320GB storage capacity in a handheld unit with Triple Interface (FW800/400/USB2). Built-in RAID 0 means throughput of up to 82MB/s over FireWire 800 with no fan for whisper-quiet operation. It’s powered by and bootable over FireWire making it the ideal candidate for a fully portable editing workstation and companion to Apple® MacBooks. Capacities include a 160GB, 200GB and 320GB starting at $399.

“LaCie Little Big Disk is designed for audio/video editors who don’t want to sacrifice capacity or speed for portability while traveling, so we’re thrilled to receive this award voted on by NAB attendees,” says Olivier Mirloup, LaCie Hard Disk Drive Business Unit Manager. “It shows that we’re reaching the right community. The response has been phenomenal so far.”
