Warsaw - Polska Telefonia Cyfrowa has commenced the process of introducing a global brand, T-Mobile, onto the Polish market. The new brand will replace the present one as of June 5, 2011. This gradual process is planned to last several months. PTC will continue its activities on the Polish market under the current company name while applying the values and the strategy represented by the new brand of T-Mobile which belongs to Deutsche Telekom Group, a co-founder and the sole owner of PTC.

The official T-Mobile logo in Poland will be the letter “T” and the Polish version of the “Life is for sharing” motto will be “Chwile, które łączą.” Over 1000 PTC shops will undergo transformation in order to follow the functionality and visualization standards of T-Mobile around the world. All internal and external PTC systems, both these visible and invisible to customers, will undergo changes, too. The present website www.era.pl will be replaced with the new www.t-mobile.pl. All information concerning T-Mobile products, services, technologies, coverage and offers, as well as the marketing material of Era’s present offer, will be presented on the new website. The company’s e-mail addresses will also change.

The introduction of the global T-Mobile brand onto the Polish market is not merely a change of name and visualization of one of the largest Polish mobile network. It represents first and foremost a unique offer which can be made available to customers only due to the global range and nature of the new brand.

“We are proud to be able to fully welcome PTC to the Deutsche Telekom family and see the T-brand shortly also on the Polish market. PTC is the second biggest mobile firm in our European footprint after Germany, a front-runner in mobile technology and a top Polish employer,” said Roland Mahler, Chief Regional Officer Europe at Deutsche Telekom. “Poland’s mobile communications market presents solid opportunities for future growth to be taken advantage of - it is the biggest in Central and Eastern Europe and is still expanding.”

“With the inauguration of the international T-Mobile brand on the Polish market we also introduce this brand’s values: simplicity, competence and innovation, which will be the basis of all our actions and offers. Some things, which have always been this company’s strengths, will not change, however: quality, client service and staff professionalism” - stressed Miroslav Rakowski, PTC CEO.

For its launch, T-Mobile has created a special offer for Polish customers based on three main concepts. Its foundation is the international range of the T-Mobile network. It is for the first time in history that T-Mobile contract customers in Poland will be able to make unlimited calls to T-Mobile numbers both in Poland and in the world. The second pillar of the new offer is preferential roaming and international call charges which are based on the principle of as cheap as in the home country. Roaming data transmission is the third key element of the new T-Mobile offer in Poland. It enables data transmission abroad with no extra charges after reaching the bundle limit. Thanks to PTC being part of the global Deutsche Telekom Group, Polish clients will be also able to make use of a special offer of most modern smartphones and tablets.

Continuity of service will not be affected in any way, however. The T-Mobile network will offer all the services and mobile products supplied currently by PTC under the Era brand, both in the pre-paid and post-paid systems for individual and business customers. Thus, PTC customers will be able to make use of the existing Era network services on the basis of their present contracts, and simultaneously benefit from the new T-Mobile promotions. All necessary adjustments will be carried out seamlessly, with no interruption of the service, and they will not require any additional actions from customers. The current telephone numbers will remain active and all current Era products and offers will be continued, marked with special T-Mobile stickers. Gradually they will be replaced by T-Mobile products.

PTC will also be able to fully make use of the international know-how of one of the largest telecommunications groups in the world. It already has access to the Group’s most modern telecommunications technologies and solutions and it participates in the realization of Deutsche Telekom’s global fix, transform and innovate strategy. Deutsche Telekom’s vision is to become the global leader in the integrated communication services sector for individual and business customers and its aspiration is to be the most valuable and most highly-rated service company in telecommunications.

The international brand of T-Mobile is based on three main values:

Innovation - We set standards and drive social networking.

Competence - Networks, services, content management and the relationship with our customers are at the heart of everything we do.

Simplicity - We make complex things simple, so our customers can concentrate on what is really essential.

Full integration of PTC with Deutsche Telekom will bring benefits not only to Polish customers, but also to its employees. Through internships, international exchange, job applications and postings across the entire DT Group, the employees will be able to develop their careers.

Polska Telefonia Cyfrowa was established in 1995 by Deutsche Telekom which is one of the largest telecommunications companies in the world. The introduction of the T-Mobile brand in Poland is possible due to the complete integration of PTC with the Deutsche Telekom Group which was finalized at the beginning of 2011. Deutsche Telekom is one of the world’s leading integrated telecommunications companies with around 128 million mobile customers, 36 million fixed-network lines and approximately 17 million broadband lines (as at March 31, 2011). The Group provides products and services for the fixed network, mobile communications, the Internet and IPTV for consumers, and ICT solutions for business customers and corporate customers. Deutsche Telekom is present in over 50 countries and has around 244,000 employees worldwide. The Group generated revenues of EUR 62.4 billion in the 2010 financial year - more than half of it outside Germany (as at December 31, 2010). PTC is presently the second largest company in Deutsche Telekom’s European footprint. Poland’s mobile communications market is also the biggest in Central and Eastern Europe - and is still growing.

Polska Telefonia Cyfrowa sp. z o.o. is the operator of the T-Mobile and Heyah mobile networks in Poland. In 1996, under the brand name of Era GSM, the company was the first in Polandto offer mobile telephony services in digital technology. PTC rapidly became one of the largest and fastest-developing Polish companies.

The T-Mobile network covers nearly 100% of Poland’s territory. PTC offers its customers mobile services, including voice services in the 2G and 3G technology, and data transmission services in GPRS/EDGE/UMTS/HSPA/HSPA+ technologies, as well as fixed-line telephony and Internet services via the infrastructure of T-Mobile and other fixed-line operators.

Thanks to PTC being part of the Deutsche Telekom Group, one of the world’s leading service companies in the telecommunications industry, its customers can benefit from the Group’s global offer, including, i.a., low-cost call and data transmission in Poland and abroad.
