Teradata Certified Professional Program Shows Significant Growth

May 5, 2006, DAYTON, Ohio – Teradata, a division of NCR Corporation (NYSE: NCR), today announced the continuing growth of its Teradata Certified Professional Program (TCPP). There are now nearly 9,000 individuals—holding more than 19,500 TCPP certifications—who are certified to support Teradata warehouse systems.

TCPP offers a comprehensive certification process with a robust curriculum and seven rigorous certification examinations. The audience targeted for participation in the program includes all individuals who design, implement, administer, support, maintain, or write applications for a Teradata database. Certifications are provided in many Teradata subject areas and include three general examinations that provide a technical base upon which to build. Depending on the type of job function, there are three additional examinations for administrators, architects and developers. For those individuals who are advanced, there is a master-level examination.

According to Baronner, one metric of the program’s success within the last several years is that the majority of certified professionals are individuals employed by Teradata’s market-leading customers and partners spanning the globe. Many individuals consider the certifications to be prestigious both because of the rigorous process required to achieve them and the many benefits that they and their companies receive as a result of being certified.
