LLMs Can Start Preparing for the New York Bar Exam at Intensive Houston Boot Camp

New York, NY, May 2011. BarWrite® and BarWrite Press (http://www.BarWrite.com) announces that its founder and president, Mary Campbell Gallagher, will offer a two-day Boot Camp for foreign lawyers preparing for the New York bar exam, May 19 and 20, in cooperation with the University of Houston, in Houston, Texas.

Although foreign-trained lawyers now comprise a quarter of candidates for the New York bar exam, in July of 2010, only 47 per cent of the 4,000-plus foreign-trained attorneys who took the New York bar for the first time passed, compared with 86 per cent of first-time takers with J.D.s from ABA-accredited law schools.

Dr. Gallagher says that foreign-trained attorneys are often excellent lawyers who simply do not know how to prepare for the New York bar exam. They too often underestimate the exam and may even attempt to self-study. The BarWrite® Houston Boot Camp will help students jump-start their preparation.
