LAKE SUCCESS, N.Y., – Marking the 16th consecutive year, Canon U.S.A., Inc., a leader in digital imaging, will host 50 children for a fun-filled and educational day as part of national “Take Your Child To Work Day.” Throughout the day, children will participate in various activities and programs to help them understand the value of what they learn in school and what they can become in the future.

“We are delighted to offer the opportunity to allow our staff to share their work experience with their children and provide them with an inside look at what they do every day,” said Bunji Yano, senior director and general manager, Corporate Communications, Canon U.S.A. "Take your child to work day is a great opportunity for Canon to not only educate future leaders, but also to raise awareness about real-world business scenarios in a fun atmosphere.

Canon has planned a series of activities that are light-hearted and fun, as well as educational and informative. The day is designed to give children a real-world sense of the modern workplace and a behind-the-scenes look at Canon, a company renowned for its world class products and global contributions.

Children in attendance will learn about one of the most common practices in business – exchanging their business cards with others and as such, will receive their own cards at the start of the day. After meeting the other children, kids will take part in events such as an introduction to budgeting, some fun questions about what they want to be when they grow up and a live exotic animal show. Children will enjoy lunch with their parents and new “co-workers.”

For more than18 years, individuals, families, organizations and workplaces have joined in this day to expand opportunities and transform the lives of millions of children both nationally and internationally. Developed to be more than a career day, the program provides insight to girls and boys as to what a parent or mentor does in their daily lives, helping to build stronger bonds within the family, showcase the value of education and assist children in envisioning their future goals and how to achieve them.
