WEBWIRE

Dr. Mark Bruce, TestAmerica’s Technical Director of the North Canton, Ohio laboratory and recognized industry expert, has been invited by the Ohio EPA to address the latest updates of the Incremental Sampling Methodology (ISM) guidance. A series of two presentations will be given at the Ohio EPA Voluntary Action Program (VAP) Certified Laboratory Coffee Sessions on May 5, 2011 in Columbus, OH, and on May 10, 2011 in Richfield, OH.

The ISM guidance document, developed by Dr. Bruce and the Interstate Technology and Regulatory Council (ITRC) team, is designed to improve the overall quality of site characterization to minimize data variability. Dr. Bruce’s presentation will provide an overview on the draft ISM guidance related to ISM principles, systematic planning, statistical ISM design, field activity, laboratory sample processing, data assessment, and regulatory concerns of data. The ITRC guidance and web-based training sessions are expected to be available in early 2012.

“Dr. Bruce’s effort to enhance the ISM guidance document is another example of how TestAmerica is able to share our technical excellence with the entire environmental community,” adds Rusty Vicinie, General Manager.

Dr. Bruce was honored with an Industry Recognition Award by the ITRC for his outstanding contribution to Incremental Sampling Methodology. Dr. Bruce has more than 27 years of analytical chemistry experience and serves as resident technical expert for method development and modification at TestAmerica’s North Canton laboratory.
