Thousands register for NANOGAMING™ and 75 percent are women – something “unheard-of in the online gaming world”

WATERLOO, CANADA, May 3, 2006 – LiveHive Systems and Survivor.com today announced preliminary results from the world’s first real-time interactive reality TV competition – Bet-On-Survivor. Fans of the CBS reality TV show Survivor: Panama – Exile Island compete by predicting the outcome of events as they watch the show. The competition launched in February and since then thousands of users have registered to wager on the moment-to-moment outcomes of the popular TV program.

Survivor.com (www.survivor.com), a premiere online fan site for the popular TV program, is using the LiveHive NANOGAMING Solution to power the Bet-On-Survivor competition. Operators at the LiveHive Broadcast Control Center watch Survivor in real-time to determine the show’s wagering opportunities and generate specific odds on each outcome. These opportunities are broadcast to Survivor fans on www.betonsurvivor.com who can then “place their bets” on the outcome of each event. Once the result of each event is determined, accounts are immediately updated and each contestant is notified of their win or loss.

During each hour long episode an average of 25 to 30 wagering opportunities are presented to players. The competition challenges players to predict how the action will unfold each week, with questions such as:
“Who will Aras vote for at tribal council?”
“Will Terry find the immunity idol on Exile Island?”
“Which Survivor will fall off the plank first?”

Bet-On-Survivor is free to enter, and contestants play for prizes including Xbox 360TM consoles and portable DVD players.

A number of online sportsbooks will be using the LiveHive NANOGAMING Solution to power “play for money” competitions in time for the fall television season. A key element fueling their demand for the product is the demographic attracted to the product.

Over 75 percent of Bet-On-Survivor registered users are women. “The online gaming industry has historically had a very difficult time attracting female players and real-time reality TV wagering appears to be a product women respond extremely well to,” said Dave Bullock, President of LiveHive Systems. “The LiveHive NANOGAMING Solution has the opportunity to bring a whole new base of consumers to the online gaming industry.”

This year’s Bet-On-Survivor competition will end with the final episode of Survivor on May 18, 2006.
