New Jersey Divorce Attorney John A. Patti Wins Client’s Appeal From The Superior Court of New Jersey

The Superior Court of New Jersey Appellate Division granted an appeal filed by the law offices of John A. Patti on behalf of his client, reversing a decision that required Patti’s client to continue to pay a specified amount of child support even though the client’s income had been significantly cut.

In its March 28, 2011 decision, which reverses an earlier a Superior Court decision, the appellate court stated the motion judge should have required a more detailed exchange of financial information. In the appeal, Mr. Patti urge the court to consider his client’s changed circumstances, as well as the fact the plaintiff had voluntarily not been working to support the children. Mr. Patti’s request for a hearing to resolve the financial issues, as well as visitation matters, was also granted.
