Global Imaging Systems Acquires United Business Solutions
TAMPA, Fla. -- Global Imaging Systems, A Xerox Company (NYSE: XRX), has acquired the assets of United Business Solutions of Addison, Ill.
United Business Solutions, an independent distributor of copiers, printers and multifunction systems, offers document management and software solutions to thousands of businesses in the Chicago area.
The acquisition furthers Global Imaging’s strategy of creating a nationwide network of locally-based providers focused on improving document workflow and office efficiency for small and mid-size businesses. Earlier this year, Global Imaging Systems acquired the assets of Florida Imaging & Network Systems, headquartered in Pensacola, Fla.
United, founded in 1982, will be integrated into Global Imaging’s Chicago Office Technology Group (COTG), and will immediately begin offering Xerox’s full range of office printing products. United customers also will have access to Xerox’s technology and managed print services which help businesses reduce the amount of time and money they spend on printing.
“With this acquisition, United’s customers gain access to Xerox technology to help them focus their time and resources on their core business,” said Terry Dixon, president, Chicago Office Technology Group, Global Imaging Systems.
