Publishing agreement with Association for Environmental Studies and Sciences provides venue for interdisciplinary environmental research

New York / Heidelberg, Springer is launching the Journal of Environmental Studies and Sciences (JESS), the official publication of the Association for Environmental Studies and Sciences (AESS). Starting in spring 2011, the journal will be available in print and on Springer’s online platform www.springerlink.com.

The Journal of Environmental Studies and Sciences provides a peer-reviewed, academically rigorous and professionally recognized forum for the publication of interdisciplinary environmental research, policy analysis and advocacy, educational discourse and other related matters. Dr. Walter (Tony) Rosenbaum of the University of Florida in Gainesville serves as the editor-in-chief. The editorial board includes a diverse range of scholars, policy practitioners, and related professionals whose expertise extends broadly across the sciences, social sciences, humanities, and other disciplines related to environmental study.

Kimberly Smith, President of AESS, said, “We hope that JESS will serve as the flagship journal for the evolving field of environmental studies and sciences. Our aim is to provide a premier and distinctive forum for the advancement of interdisciplinary approaches to the study of the coupled human-nature systems.”

“It has been exciting for Springer to be involved with the creation and growth of AESS since its inception,” said Melinda Paul, Senior Editor of Environmental Science at Springer, adding that, “This cooperative relationship has set the stage for the timely release of this venue for publishing interdisciplinary environmental research.”
