Agilent Technologies to present at TIDES conference

PALO ALTO, Calif., May 1, 2006, Agilent Technologies Inc. (NYSE: A) today announced that Kenneth W. Hill, Ph.D., will speak at the TIDES 2006 conference on May 3 in Carlsbad, Calif. His presentation is part of Agilent’s participation in this annual conference on oligonucleotide and peptide technology, focusing on product development for therapeutics and diagnostics.

Hill will speak about “Considerations for Preparation of Conjugated Oligonucleotide Drug Substances.” The presentation focuses on improvements in manufacturing processes for PEGylated synthetic nucleic acids, which may play an increasing role in developing optimal oligonucleotide-based drugs.

Hill is part of Agilent’s Boulder, Colo., organization, which Agilent acquired on April 17, 2006. The facility manufactures short, synthetic DNA and RNA molecules that are becoming more important to the pharmaceutical and biotech industries as components of drugs for use in clinical trials. The organization is headed by General Manager James Powell.
