EMSL’s Houston Laboratory Celebrates 10 Years of AIHA EMLAP Accreditation

Viable mold and bacteria testing at the renowned Houston laboratory has been under the esteemed accreditation program since 2001.

EMSL Analytical is pleased to announce that their Houston, Texas laboratory has reached a new milestone. The laboratory is celebrating 10 years of accreditation under the American Industrial Hygiene Association’s (AIHA) Environmental Microbiology Laboratory Accreditation Program (EMLAP).

This proud achievement represents EMSL’s commitment to quality and excellence. According to the AIHA, “When a laboratory is accredited by AIHA, the laboratory and its clients have the assurance that the laboratory has met defined standards for performance based on examination of a variety of criteria. When a laboratory is accredited by AIHA, it becomes part of an elite group of laboratories achieving and maintaining a high level of professional performance.”

The criteria for laboratory accreditation include:

• Personnel qualifications
• Participation in an AIHA-LAP, LLC approved proficiency testing
program
• Facilities
• Quality assurance
• Laboratory records
• Method of analysis
• Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
• Site assessment of the laboratory
