(Portland, Oregon – March 17, 2011) — Rodney Lough Jr., world-renowned Master Landscape Photographer announced today that he will be donating a portion of his March sales to benefit the victims of the earthquake and tsunami which devastated Japan on March 11, 2011. Proceeds from gallery sales will be donated to the American Red Cross, which just donated an initial $10 million contribution to the ongoing relief efforts in Japan. “The American Red Cross is in a unique position to help channel support to our partner in Japan that is playing a critical humanitarian role and comforting the survivors.” said David Meltzer, senior vice president of international services with the American Red Cross. The 9.0 Earthquake triggered a vastly destructive tsunami, which has been followed by multiple aftershocks, blackouts, fires and nuclear facility malfunctions.

Rodney Lough Jr. is often involved in philanthropic causes and he is especially proud that his wilderness photography will benefit the recovery process in Japan. Rodney’s images of Earth’s most epic and awe-inspiring landscapes inspire a deep reverence that reminds us – especially in times such as these - that nature can be as equally destructive as it is beautiful. National Sales and Marketing Director of the Rodney Lough Jr. Gallery, Don Keenan is “proud to support The Red Cross in their efforts to provide relief to the people of Japan during this devastating crisis.”

The collaboration between Rodney Lough Jr. and the American Red Cross offers collectors an opportunity to acquire fine art while simultaneously helping the country of Japan in one of its greatest times of need.
