DirectRooms announces that swimmers from all over Australia will be travelling to Adelaide to see who’s the fastest in their age group as part of a national competition taking place in April.

The 2011 Australia Age Championships will see junior swimmers competing in different events over various strokes. Each race is divided by age group with categories starting from 12 and 13 years old, up to 17 and 18 years and will also be split into boys and girls. Swimmers are due to race in all styles including heats for breaststroke, freestyle, backstroke, butterfly, relay and medleys.

To qualify entrants must have achieved specific times over each of the distances which will start from 50m up to 1500 m for the older competitors. Spectators can see the action unfold at the South Australian Aquatic Centre in Adelaide from 18th to 23rd April 2011. The heats start at 09:00 each day and the finals are held from 18:00.

The event consists of individual races and swimming clubs from different regions of Australia will also be taking part and the increase in the number of competitors descending on Adelaide is set to affect hotels Adelaide (http://directrooms.com/australia/hotels/adelaide-hotels/price1.htm) as many people look for places near the Aquatic Centre.

Lek Boonlert, marketing head at DirectRooms commented: “The championships are a chance for some swimmers to get drawn into the national squads so the attendance is high. Similarly hotels will be booked up with clubs taking part and organisers should prepare in advance and make reservations early.”
