Company to Debut Krause Smart’n’Easy Jet Platesetter, PuzzleFlowTM Workflow Solutions

VALHALLA, N.Y., March 8, 2011 – With continued investment in the newspaper publishing industry, the Graphic Systems Division of FUJIFILM North America Corporation will highlight several new solutions for the market – including the Krause Smart’n’Easy Jet and PuzzleFlowTM workflow – during the America East Technology and Operations Conference, held March 14-16, 2011.

“Fujifilm is continuously striving to create solutions that help our clients operate more effectively and efficiently,” said Lane Palmer, vice president for Newspaper Sales, Graphic Systems Division, FUJIFILM North America Corporation. “With the addition of the Smart’n’Easy Jet and solutions from PuzzleFlow, we are now able to deliver new and improved solutions for the small and mid-size newspapers and open web press operations.”

America East serves as the U.S. introduction for the Krause Smart’n’Easy Jet, Fujifilm’s most recent addition to its portfolio of products for newspaper publishers. A result of the recognized engineering found in the LS Jet series, the Smart’n’Easy Jet offers an opportunity for increased flexibility for today’s small to mid-size publishers thanks to the ability to image both newspaper and commercial printing plates.

In addition to the Krause Smart’n’Easy Jet, Fujifilm will also introduce three workflow solutions from PuzzleFlow, including WebPairer, Automator and InkSaver. Designed from the ground up to cover all aspects of newspaper production, the PuzzleFlow solutions help automate various processes and make production areas more efficient.

Fujifilm will also be on hand to discuss its newspaper plate offerings, including Brillia HD LP-NN2, Brillia HD LP-NNV, FNE and Ecomaxx-VN, as well as the company’s Daily Edition line of pressroom consumables. Thanks to an unprecedented investment in plate R&D and manufacturing, Fujifilm is able to offer the most complete, high quality, environmentally friendly range of CTP plate products in the industry. In line with Fujifilm’s long-term strategy of offering choice, the Brillia HD range of CTP plates comprises both violet and thermal versions, along with low-chemistry and processless derivatives.

Fujifilm’s Daily Edition line-up of newspaper products encompasses everything from prepress to the pressroom, including fountain solutions, blankets, washes and various sundry items. They are specially designed for a newspaper environment, and integrated by Fujifilm’s newspaper specialists who have the knowledge and expertise to help publishers streamline workflow, manage costs and ensure optimum quality.
