CeBIT 2011: Atos Origin presents security from the cloud

Essen - Atos Origin, an international IT services company, today presents its cloud-based security solution Atos High Performance Security (AHPS) at CeBIT. Atos Origin has been the official Worldwide Information Technology Partner to the Olympic Games since 2002. Based on this experience, the IT services provider has developed Atos High Performance Security. This solution identifies security threats to companies, reduces the costs of IT security and enables companies to adhere to compliance requirements. A centralized European operations centre provides Atos Origin customers with standardized security solutions. This intelligent security solution is based on risk analysis and tools designed to guarantee security in companies.

Atos High Performance Security is hosted in a cloud infrastructure at a dedicated European Security Operations Centre that operates around-the-clock. The solution is based on comprehensive scenario analysis and a fully developed event management system (Security Information and Event Management, SIEM). Atos Origin creates a risk profile and analyses the business needs of each company. On this basis, the solution correlates possible incidents and identifies potential threats. Together with the customer, Atos Origin implements rules that prioritise security-relevant events and trigger alarms in the event of serious incidents. Customers who choose AHPS can also access a Security Management Portal that gives them round-the-clock access to information about the status of threats and the measures initiated in response.

Medal-winning security
With AHPS, Atos Origin is using its experience acquired at the Olympic Games with a broad customer base. During the 17 days of the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing, Atos Origin collected and filtered more than 12 million IT security events each day to detect any potential security risk for the Olympic Games IT systems. From these, less than 100 were identified as real issues. All were resolved, so there was no impact at all on the Olympic Games. Atos Origin has been the Worldwide Information Technology Partner to the International Olympic Committee since 2002 and, as such, is responsible for IT security during the Olympic Games.

Atos Origin at Cloud Computing World
Atos Origin launched the new AHPS solution at Cloud Computing World, which was organised by the industry association BITKOM as part of CeBIT 2011. The Atos Origin Cloud Portfolio covers the entire IT value-added chain. Under the name Atos Sphere, Atos Origin offers IT infrastructure and application services including cloud data management, cloud workplace solutions or solutions for hardware infrastructure.
